MULTIMODAL SERVICE BETWEEN NORWAY AND FRANCE

DFDS has established a new multimodal service connecting Scandinavia to France by using three modes of transportation: ship, road and rail.

“The service includes daily departures in both directions and has been initiated by our Shipping Division. Cargo will be shipped from Gothenburg or Brevik to Ghent via our daily service, after which it will move onto rail for transportation to Lyon or Le Boulou / Perpignan in France. DFDS works with CFL Multimodal to realise the rail transport.”

“The new rail connection to and from France expands our services on the Gothenburg–Ghent route and meets our customer demands, which increasingly looks to avoid traffic jams and road congestion charges and are very interested in more environmental-friendly modes of transportation," says Morgan Olausson, Vice President and Route Director.
